Philippa's work has been published and exhibited in Europe, United States and China. Awards include Winner in the category Street Photography and Cityscapes in the 7th Edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers, Jurors Choice award at the PH21 Gallery in Budapest, Hungary, and the Photobook Award a the Davis Orton Gallery in Hudson, New York.
Philippa has a Bachelor of Art from Stetson University and Master of Fine Art from Florida State University (USA). She continued her studies in Italy and graduated as an Art Therapist in 2017. In 2018, she completed a specialization in the therapeutic use of photography.
Artist Statement
I am interested in the concept of space; how we inhabit it, how we occupy it, and how we interpret it. The way we hold our bodies and inhabit space is highly unique and individual and often happens without our realizing or appreciating it's expressiveness and beauty. I am fascinated by the subtleties of human interaction and expression, on both conscious and unconscious levels. Our perceptions of this invisible and visible language and the meaning that we give to it says just as much about us as it does about our subjects.
